How many cons are you going to attend if it's just 1 or 2 a year, I'd say save the money and enjoy what ya have already. If you're goign to be mroe active like ya used to, get more :)

I'll need some DJ's for sure. So, no problem if you want to try your hand at it sometime. The club is done. I just need to do one of two things - figure out how to get a service set up for streaming (I hear you can do it through shoutcast somehow) or find someone with their own stream who wants to manage the club. I tend to lean more towards the first option because I have some control of the club that way but we'll see.

I'm really not sure. I'm kind of in a furry slump at the moment. It's not really doing much for me right now - not that I'll leave or anything, though I'll be at FC and will be suiting there.

You could get a different artist to do your suit if you don't want to spend that much, those who charge less than $2k still exist, right? I sure hope it's not a given about spending that much, I still have to get a lynx suit and I keep putting it off ^.^;;;
Considering how long it takes to get the suit finished, depends on whether you can wait when you are ready to get a new one. I'd check the reasons on why, you already have a very nice suit so you're not being kept from events due to not having a suit. So, is it on a whim or for some reason that'll keep you interested in wearing it for the long term? As you said, too expensive an investment to let it go to waste.

Too bad you didn't live closer to the NYC area, lots of fursuiting events pop up - just wish we had more suiters around.

Yes, it's a tough choice but my guess is that I'll get one anyways since Radjin will be fursuiting a lot once he gets his new fursuit.

Oh, heck yes. There are fursuit builders still who charge less...I'm just picky about who builds my suits. ;)

We actually have lots of fursuiting events out here too. I'm also a member of Critters By The Bay and they're continually coming up with things. The problem is I'm just not in the mood right now. I'm probably just going through a phase. hehe

i fully understand your reasoning for not attending MFF. i, too, have considered forgoing a couple of conventions during the coming years in order to plow that money into a fursuit. i do have a pretty good amount of disposable income, but it aint unlimited.

dark haven castle looks GREAT! i tried to download SL into my laptop a couple years ago and it went CRASHIES. now that i have a brand new desktop at home i might dl SL into it and start exploring.

Second Life was really buggy a few years ago. It's still far from perfect but perhaps now it will work a bit better for you.

I wish I could make MFF too, but meh, I don't have enough of a finance buffer built up after my recent trip.
I do have a potential offer for a cheap flight to FC, but I don't necessarily want to room with the guy.. so i'm not entirely sure I want to go. Besides, if I don't go, I might decide to get my orca suit underway instead... It's a hard choice >.>

Hmm, i ponder what Gv2.0 may look like if you do get an upgrade after all the work/RL/finance issues are sorted out... and even though Neouka said that he may take the first one off you, it's gonna be a little sad to see that one not around as often.

And if you do go for an upgrade after things subside enough to make it sufficiently possible, will it be something of a simile with the badge you currently use for the icon (retaining the toony aspect), a toony but angular aspect (used in the badge in this photo) or a semi-realistic look (this really OOOOLD one she did from '03)?

And i'll have to find that place on SL when i get the videocard upgade... err, eventually. As it is with the Riva TNT2, i'm lagged up the wazoo every time i try to run it, so i might ask for a few upgrades for christmas.
Judging from the screenshot however, it's looking pretty nice so far. :*)

Growl V2.0 will not be as toony and he's not going to have a bow tie if I start the commission. I may go back to his titanium spork though. Not sure yet. All my suits have been toonie and I want a more sexy version than V1.5.

Growl V1.5 isn't totally retired but for the most part I really only wear him at FC. It's also easier for me to transport 2 or 3 suits to that con since I live fairly close to it. ;)

If I do have a new version of Growl made I will likely have both versions come out on the floor at the same time. That opportunity would be too much fun to pass up. hehe.

Thanks. I hope you do get a chance to check out the castle eventually. It's really coming along. I've been working on it with friends for about 3 months now and it's a lot of work but coming along nicely. ^^

Yup i figure that if my sis ever gets around to asking me what i want for chrimbo, i'll mention that the 20GB HD isn't really cutting it very much for me anymore (and it gets pretty full up with a lot of the music i'm downloading now - currently running on 20% free space, but the system is laggy and i'm repeatedly defragging on both PerfectDisk and the Windows defragmenter to compress the files), and i dunno what videocard i might need for a graphics-intensive prog such as SL so the framerate/picture quality would be smooth enough for the ram to handle.
I guess i'd have to wait until after the comp's been upgraded and i can find the area's slurl to direct me there to find out.

Also, i'm not quite sure, but i'm also thinking about replacing the current CD-R burner drive with a faster CD/DVD-RW one so i can probably burn movies to recordable DVD-R's since just making backups of them is kind of a drag when you can't watch avi files on your own DVD player. X*6

20 gigs? Ewww...

Hmmm...you could always get the video card I got. It seems to render SL quite well and it's a standard AGP (if your computer has that slot) with 512 MB of onboard memory. It's not a brand new card on the market. I think it's about a year or so old. I think I paid about $110 bucks for it a few months ago. If your interested in looking it up online to see if it will work for you let me know and I'll try to find the make and model.

No worries. We'll likely still be on SL when you get there. ;)

Ewww is right. 20GB may have been de riguer back in 2001 or 2002, but not now with HDs that probably average around 200 or more.
And i wouldn't know if this stack has AGP card ports since it's a Dell Optiplex GX200 model (yeah, it seems like everything about this system might be primitive in PC standards).
In the meantime, why not? Go ahead and look it up... maybe that one could still be available around here.

Sorry for the delay. The card I got for improved performance on Second Life and games in general was the - ATI Radeon X1650 Pro 512MB.
